How NC Pet Project collects, uses, and protects your information.

What We Collect

NC Pet Project collects information you provide directly when you:

  • Apply for a spay/neuter voucher (name, address, household income, pet information)
  • Sign the petition (name, email, zip code)
  • Subscribe to our email newsletter (email address)
  • Make a donation (name, email, billing address, processed by Stripe)
  • Submit a contact form (name, email, message)

We also collect standard web analytics data (pages visited, referral source, browser type) through anonymized server logs. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party tracking pixels.

How We Use It

  • To process and fulfill voucher applications
  • To send newsletters and advocacy updates you subscribed to
  • To process donations (payment data handled by Stripe, not stored by us)
  • To send petition-related communications to elected officials on your behalf
  • To improve our website and services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Email Communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a petition, you will receive email communications from NC Pet Project. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@ncpetproject.org.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit. Voucher application data is retained for up to 3 years to support program administration. Newsletter subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Stripe — payment processing for donations. Stripe's privacy policy applies to your payment data.
  • Brevo — email delivery service for newsletters and transactional emails.
  • Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, and DDoS protection. Cloudflare may log IP addresses as part of network security.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies required for WordPress functionality (login sessions, form security nonces). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. To make a request, email info@ncpetproject.org with the subject line "Privacy Request."

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
