Ways to Get Involved
County Coordinator
Lead the effort in your county. Organize local events, recruit volunteers, connect pet owners with resources, and build relationships with local vets and shelters. This is the most impactful volunteer role.
Time commitment: 5-10 hours/month
Event Volunteer
Help at adoption events, low-cost clinic days, town halls, and fundraisers. Tasks include setup, registration, animal handling, and community outreach.
Time commitment: As available
Foster Network
Provide temporary housing for animals awaiting spay/neuter surgery or recovery. We provide supplies and veterinary support.
Time commitment: 1-4 weeks per foster
Advocacy Ambassador
Help spread the word about NC Pet Project. Share on social media, write letters to editors, attend town halls, and talk to your neighbors about the importance of spay/neuter.
Time commitment: 2-3 hours/month
Transport Volunteer
Help transport animals to and from spay/neuter appointments, especially in rural areas where access to veterinary care is limited.
Time commitment: As available
Professional Skills
Contribute your professional expertise: veterinary, legal, marketing, graphic design, web development, fundraising, grant writing, or data analysis.
