Volunteer with NC Pet Project

Join North Carolinians working county by county to end animal overpopulation.

Ways to get involved

County Champion

Rally your county. Share its county page, bring in signers to move it up the leaderboard, point pet owners to low-cost spay/neuter, and, if you like, help organize local events. This is the most impactful volunteer role.

Time commitment: 2 to 10 hours a month, your choice

Event Volunteer

Help at adoption events, low-cost clinic days, town halls, and community events. Tasks include setup, registration, animal handling, and community outreach.

Time commitment: As available

Foster Network

Provide temporary housing for animals awaiting spay/neuter surgery or recovery. We are building this network now; sign up and we will contact you as it takes shape.

Time commitment: 1 to 4 weeks per foster

Advocacy Ambassador

Help spread the word about NC Pet Project. Share on social media, write letters to editors, attend town halls, and talk to your neighbors about the importance of spay/neuter.

Time commitment: 2 to 3 hours a month

Transport Volunteer

Help transport animals to and from spay/neuter appointments, especially in rural areas where access to veterinary care is limited.

Time commitment: As available

Professional Skills

Contribute your professional expertise: veterinary, legal, marketing, graphic design, web development, fundraising, grant writing, or data analysis.

Time commitment: Varies by project
